Yesterday, we began by reconnecting, and talking about the break.
Students are to bring a novel to class from now on.
Students watched a piece by Sarah Kay - a TED Talk in which she performs poetry, and explains how to move toward writing from a place of resistance.
Students wrote a list of "10 Things I Know to Be True" for homework.
We opened today's class with novel reading.
Today we made those lists into a word cloud to find common ground with others.
We re-watched Sarah's fist poem to find lines that stood out, and analyze theme for devices and impact.
Students had some time to work on the assignment for today - it is posted in TEAMS and must be submitted there. The criteria are there. It is DUE BY 9AM TOMORROW MORNING
